Assumption Regional Catholic School has its own radio station — and it's on the air right now.

 

Magic of the Mouse Radio plays Disney music around the clock. Sweeping film scores. The music that drifts down Main Street. The soundtrack inside your favorite ride, the fireworks finale, the parade rolling past — recorded at Disney parks all over the world, many of them in the language of the country they call home. Turn it on while you're making dinner and you'll hear a castle show from Tokyo followed by a song you've known since you were six.

 

How to listen — it's free:

On a computer, tablet of smart phone go to magicofthemouse.org and press play. That's all there is to it.

 

On a phone or tablet, you can also download the free Live365 app — from the App Store on an iPhone or iPad, or from Google Play on an Android phone — then open it and search for Magic of the Mouse Radio. Tap the station and you're listening. Add it to your favorites and it's one tap away every time after that.

 

Here's the best part: our students built it. Grades 3 through 8 run this station alongside their technology class, under the direction of Mr. William Guerro, the school's technology teacher. They research and write every story on the station's website. They staff the Student Newsroom, where young reporters cover movie music, composers, park audio and more. And they write and record the segments you'll hear between the songs. Every student picks an on-air name of their own — real names and photos are never published, so the voice you hear might be Captain Echo or Copper Fox, and only they and their families will know who it really is.
