Summary

Assumption Regional Catholic School, a PreK-8 Catholic School in in Galloway, NJ, is seeking a strong, faith-filled, Catholic School principal for the 2024-2025 School Year. Assumption blends the formation of students in a Catholic community with rigorous academics that balance traditional approaches with skills necessary for success in the 21st Century. The principal is responsible for ensuring the faith formation of all students by promoting an atmosphere of respect and discipline that provides all students with the freedom to grow academically, socially, emotionally, spiritually, and in service to others.

Qualifications

  1. A practicing Catholic who possesses the knowledge and skills to share and live the truths of the Catholic Faith with students, parents, and staff

  2. Diocesan Certification as a catechist, or its equivalent (or the disposition and willingness to pursue upon hire)

  3. Master's Degree

  4. A NJ teaching or administrative certificate, or equivalent (preferred) 5) Five years of teaching and/or educational administrative experience, preferably in Catholic Schools

  5. Evidence of competency in management, communication, and collaborative skills

  6. Selected Responsibilities

 

Catholic Identity

  • Serve as the primary spiritual leader and religious educator of the school, active in living and promoting the Catholic faith

  • Establish and sustain among faculty, staff, students, and parents a shared commitment to the Catholic identity of the school that integrates Church teaching and traditions with social justice and service to each other and the broader community

  • Ensure that the faith is an integral part of the school curriculum and that the diocesan curriculum for Religious Studies is used at all grades Programmatic Excellence

  • Ensure that teachers regularly collaborate with each other and use input from multiple sources to improve instruction and student achievement

  • Establish and maintain an effective system of assessment that includes formative, summative, performance, and standardized assessments

  • Provide for the ongoing professional learning of all teachers, including the use of effective teaching strategies for all students, in collaboration with the Office of Catholic Schools and diocesan initiatives

 

Operational Vitality

  • Work with the pastor and the relevant parish and diocesan staff to establish and adhere to a yearly school budget, implementing diocesan budget procedures and guidelines

  • Establish goals for advancement, fundraising, and enrollment and supervise the relevant staff in pursuing effective strategies for realizing them

  • Communicate regularly and effectively with all school stakeholders, including: pastor, parents, teachers, parishioners, parish staff, diocesan staff, funders, and others
